Why a product works for everyone else and not you

Thousands of five-star reviews, and it still didn't do anything for you. That's not you doing something wrong. A review is a description of one other person's skin, routine, and environment, not a prediction about yours.

A review is describing a different starting point

Two people can use the exact same product and have completely different experiences, and both reviews can be completely honest. Skin barrier strength, oil production, sensitivity, and how a product interacts with whatever else is already in someone's routine all vary hugely from person to person. A review tells you it worked for that person's skin, in their climate, alongside their other products. It was never able to tell you what it will do on yours.

What actually varies between people

The only review that actually applies to you

None of this means reviews are useless, they're a reasonable way to decide what's worth trying. But once you've decided to try something, the only result that tells you anything about your own skin is your own result, tracked the same way over the same stretch of time. Everything else is someone else's data.

SkinLogs keeps that record for you: a dated photo and note every time you check in, so weeks from now you're comparing your own actual history, not trying to remember whether it felt like the reviews said it would.

Not a medical device. This is general, non-clinical guidance on judging your own results. It isn't medical advice and doesn't replace a professional evaluation. If something concerns you, especially anything painful, bleeding, or rapidly changing, see a licensed healthcare provider.

Stop borrowing someone else's results. Track your own, and see for yourself.
